How do you even begin to recognize and acknowledge ALL of the people that have influenced you over your lifetime? As a child of the sixties, where my sensibilities began to develop and take shape, I was introduced to a broad swath and spectrum of artistic personalities that have left a mark on me. All of the artists who worked for Mad Magazine, popular television programming, top 40 radio and writers that I would soon be introduced to would help shape the way I viewed the world and interacted in it. I loved The Beatles and Elvis, laughed with Allen Sherman and Groucho Marx, made time to watch Saturday Morning Cartoons as well as Sunday horror matinees and late night fright fests on Fridays and Saturdays. I adored the work of Disney and our family had our evenings scheduled around prime time tv which featured The Carol Burnett Show, Get Smart and The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Honeymooners, The Jackie Gleason Show, Laugh-In and the Saturday Evening movie. In between we gorged on some of the worst enduring tv fare given up for consumption and had our fill of The Brady Bunch and Gilligan’s Island and The Flintstones. It all went into the mix and continues to find it’s way out in various forms.
